This'll be a long one.
Week 1 Recap
I experimented a bit with Toon Shaders in Maya, as seen below:
The middle image is just a reference photo for the layout, and the left is just basic toon shaders slapped onto geometry. The far right image I tried adding a glass preset, as well as playing with some lights from both inside and outside the greenhouse. My next test will be to see how the shaders work on a non-flat model, like a character or maybe plants and pots.
Into Week 2
This week I worked heavily on fixing up my story, further figuring out my character design, and doing some slight research into rigging. I need to really up the ante on rigging, and get ahead while I can for it.
Below are my first draft thumbnails:

43 thumbnails. I might have some space to linger on scenes or such, but I fear I might need to be extremely choosy in what I put in the scene, as well as make more of an effort to set the scene up in the beginning. I'm not sure it really flows visually and makes as much linear sense as maybe it does in my head. But, first draft.
And here is my working treatment:
(Hopefully it updates as I update it haha).
And the Production Schedule (though, it might still be subject to change as I go along):
And voila.
Personal Goals for this weekend:
- Model the Widow
- Nail down how many assets I'll have (spreadsheet?) and start googling for plant models
- Watch some rigging videos, and maybe start that
- Revise story; thumbnails
