Uh, Week 6

Animatic #2 with a rough sound bit.

Figured out what was wrong, I think, with the Widow's shaders but need to go back and fix the eyebrows again.

Been hunting down some more plants to populate the room, so those will be coming in soon-ish-ly. And I kind of figured out a sky, so here are some test renders with it plopped in.

Though, I think I want to find a different way to make the rest of the environment since this was with Cam sampling at 3 and it is still grainy, and took a couple of minutes to render, which seems like a long time. So maybe an HDRI of that size is too much, with a standard surface shader, but if I used it with a toon shader the shadow cast by the greenhouse didn't work with the glass. I'll continue experimenting though.

(Below for comparison is a render with the sky sphere+HDRI hidden)

(and just for continued reference, the first image is 3,147KB and the second is 448KB)

Update on music -- reached out to a friend from high school who has composed for other student films, so he will be sending along some demos this month. No update on a sound engineer, but I might have a backup. I realize I need, in terms of music, a simple melody for one, that can be poorly replicated on a flute, then whistled, then played with more ambient music behind it for the credits? And an underlying constant tune of sorts.

Depending on Animatic feedback, I will start rough blocking my animation this week. (NOTE: research how to reference animated rigs etc so I can work in a test scene without all the added referenced props and environment?)
