Animatic 1 with critique fixes below:
(the layers got a little weird exporting them from Photoshop to After Effects, so apologies for the resolution)
I spent the weekend finishing up rigging the widow. In order to make Advanced Skeleton work, I had to redo the eyelids so they were part of the rest of the face and not separate objects, so that took a chunk of time figuring out and then redoing the whole body. Also some geo issues with the arms, so might still need some minor fixes but for now, it works?
I also have been playing with the glass shading in the Greenhouse. I am thinking sunset or sunrise, so there are different colors and I can play with the mood a little more. The lights on the top of the greenhouse should be interesting once I get everything in, I'm a little worried about shadows but that is a shading issue for another day. I also have found that Maya Hardware (1, 3, 4) renders the hard image, base polygon levels, and make the shadows and shaders look a little janky. Maya Software 2.0 renders the softened objects so it looks smoother, and I'm going to go with the Software because it just seems to render better especially with the toon shaders (2). And then both when you export the render snapshot it's darker than it shows in the render view (as is the widow when I rendered her out). But I'll figure it out, it's probably a compositing thing.
It is all looking a little dark and apocalyptic at the moment, so I might rethink colors. The OG glass shaders looked like this:
But this seems too...clean. So I'll experiment some more.
I also need to compile copyright info for the assets I've found online from TurboSquid and such -- and make a doc to organize the links. I've found a good number of plants, might need to spot model some myself just to fill the place out. Need to find more clutter objects, like pots and tools and such, but those are also easy enough to model.
Finding a composer is still a struggle.
